After winning the Indycar championship in 1992 in his own team, Bobby Rahal decides to develop his own car to defend the title in 1993 and acquires the Truesports 91C model renamed Rahal/Hogan R/H-001. With this car Bobby got 2nd place in Long Beach, but in the next race in Indianapolis, Bobby Rahal the car proved to be uncompetitive and failed to qualify.

The team acquires the Lola T93/00 chassis on an emergency basis. Rahal manages to score points regularly over the next 12 stages and finishes 4th in the championship.
