The 420/M/58 Eldorado is a single-seater racing car built by Maserati from 1958 to 1959. It was the first important Italian racing car to be advertised by a company outside the world of motoring, Eldorado, a company that marketed ice creams. It was designed and built to take part in the 500 Miles of Monza in 1958. The frame was tubular, and was based on that of the 250F, while the front suspension was those mounted on the 450S, ie a telescopic shock absorber on the right and one lever on the left. The engine was a particularly short-stroke V8, mounted 90mm to the side of the car's longitudinal axis.

In the 500 Miles of Monza in 1958, his first race, he was driven by Stirling Moss, and he achieved good results in the first two sessions. In the third, on lap 40, the steering broke and the car rolled off the track at 260 km / h. Moss won, and was awarded seventh place. The model also took part in the 1959 Indianapolis 500, but power problems precluded participation in the race after taking part in qualifying. The driver was the american Ralph Liguori.
